I was thinking (painful) the sheep hunters have their grand slams, slams of caribou, the big 4 or 5 or 6 or 7 etc. So whats about having a grand slam of crats. It might be a challange depending on how many it would take. We could start with a siameese, angora, persian, calico, etc. (any more ideas??) then SCI has all sorts of medals and the like for complete slams, we could crat shooters. Something like a 6 pack for the first slam, 12 pack for the second, case for the third etc etc. I believe this could take crat blasting to a new level and bolster crat blasers egos.

I would have completed your grand slam last weekend if I had taken that shot at a Persian that was in that woman's lap.
The angle was all wrong.

Maybe you could include an "option" for possums and such. 4 of 5 designated crats with an option?

I think we did have a grand slam setup established: one of each recognized breed with rifle, pistol, shotgun. bow, spear, car, truck. etc. Very, very difficult, but SCI wouldn't have nothing to do with the proposal, guess they were more into supporting corrupt african gubbermints instead. N.S.

You and I must think somewhat alike Hound. I envisioned a bluehaired old bat,the kind that lives for causing trouble with all of the neighbours, sitting on the porch, rocking gently in the afternoon sun with Fluffo in her lap and then suddenly Fluffo intercepts a 22 Cheetah and expoldes all over the old dingbat! My god, what an exciting thought! gunsmile thumb beer derf

The bullet placement would have to be purrrrrfect to get the maximum red mist effect. sofa

For quite some time we have been very careful about safe backstops for accurate shooting, and some have even passed up shots on kittens and lap lynxes. Sometimes that is the best policy, just as sss is sometimes the best policy.

Ned, if one used an SX or a Ballistic tip in the 25/06 there likely wouldn't be a pass-through,even on an average sized porch panther. Or I suppose a 22/250 or 22 Cheetah with the same bullet choices would derive the desired results! clap derf

I have much the same problem, shooting newly weaned kittens off the laps of young children. It brings up an interesting "ethics in hunting" question. Is it worth the noise and mess of possibly nicking the child in addition to the filthy cat?

If I may be so bold as to interject a ricochet generated by Marterius. How 'bout C.S.A.? Confused Aside having an illustrious heritage and being an acronym loathed by the liberal weenies, it seems so appropriate. Crat Shooters Anonymous would logically support the various SLAMS and we could even project an annual gathering to celebrate out latest SLAM Master. Crat-Slam-Do. thumb

I nominate 120mm as Chief Slammer. He seems to have that killer instinct honed superior to Gillette.
