I know everyone loves cats, but there are some other critters that I pursue with equal enthusiasm and contempt. I really get tired of possums getting into everything and eating the dogs food. They snarl at you and it generally takes something more than a .22 to firmly put them down. Ran one through with a broadhead from about 10 feet and he ran off!

Almost as obnoxious are racoons. Damn smart most of the time and they drag their little ones along to get sympathy value. There isn't much they don't get into and they can tear up stuff they have no intention of eating.

The next is less frequent but when a porqupine crawls up under your rig and eats fan belts and hoses they become unwelcome quickly.

Speaking of unwelcome, I rate skunks at the top.

Unwelcome but not stinky are deer that eat new expensive shrubbery and the wife's garden. At least they taste good.

Rare, but annoying are the woodpeckers that want to drill into the side of your house.

I used to hate robins for eating all the cherries then I found out you can't shoot them here.

The last are crows. Cleaning their droppings off the truck is a pain. They get the 12ga treatment.

What critters bother you?

Snakes- the only good one, is a dead one.
Armadillos- only when rooting up the yard.
Hogs- They can really tear up a pasture. But some are good eating.

With no particular order of angst intended:

'coons, but they are some sport on the roadways, a threefer being my best effort to date. They have my utmost respect until certified dead, rabies is an issue in this area. Eeker

Snakes with venom around the house. shame

'dillos and possums, both usually get the pitchfork or a flat whack with the shovel. They don't snarl much after that. thumbdown

Held in reserve until the End of Days; Polyticians, Shysters, Whiney-assed liberal I-have-never-been-scared-in-my-life tree humpin' bunny huggin' I-got-a-cause shitwipes trending to deep blue in color...useless as tits on a boar.....Gawd, those people piss me off... gunsmile

well this stuff is alright, just so longs as you don't loose sight of the most beautiful thing in the world is still the black crosshairs of a 220 swift against a nice soft white background of the neighbors pussycat.

Squill. I've seen squill tear down two walls of a brick house, once. Little bastards got between the wall and the insulation, and just pushed the bricks out one at a time.

We used to have squill that would eat the tops off of pears and then throw them at you as you walked by or under the tree. Some of them were darned good shots, too!
