Cold, hope you find somebody to help with that, coons can be a bonafide PITA. Until then there are a couple of things you can do to help yourself. One is to purchase a couple or three Hav-a-heart live traps and put them to use. Almost anything will work for bait and they are quite effective. Now you may have 2-3 traps and a Brazillion coons but with a little perserverence you will win. The other thing you can do is put out a couple of bait piles, dried corn on the cob is great for this, or even some cracked corn. A once or twice a night drive by with your stealth pick-up, a good set of head lights and the boom stick of your choice will add a touch of personal satisfaction to the equation! May I be so bold as to suggest a repeater of some sort? A good .22 Auto or pump with some low power glass, and a belly full of LRHPs will do the trick, even if you have to face a herd charge. Eeker

Anyway, good luck! I usta have a coon problem here in Yankeetown, now I don't. Long live CB Shorts! thumb

Cold,

Dan's right on about trapping coons. Incidentally they prey heavilly on turkey eggs and poults.

I would rather use Claymore mines, but since Uncle Sam won't let the Army sell them to me, a 12 gauge and #2 shot is the next best thing.

i took one out on his way to my feeder with a bow a few weeks back, Big Grin funnest shot i've made with that thing yet, old Mr ringtail didn't go 3 ft before laying over in a big bloody pile, and had expired before i got down outta my climber, was gonna make a coon skin cap out of him, unfortunately the broadhead opened a hole too big to patch for an exit wound, but hey, atleast i know my broadheads work VERY VERY well roflmao

Cold, if I may offer an alternative to my previous advice, borrowed from the book of CATassTROPHYS...

Bury a 6" diameter X 24" piece of PVC upright under your corn bait. Place one pound of Swiss ffg in the bottom along with the guts of a 110 VAC lightbulb in a socket. Run the extension cord to your house. Plug it in when they dive into the corn overhead. Make movies. beer
