I take a week of leave and when I return I find that I missed all the fun. Congrats to you Miss Ann, great job. I see another type of guide service for you in the off season!

Oh, Ann, you know, if I wasn't already happily married to my lovely red-headed Irish woman, you would be in contention for my heart. I mean, it's not every day you find a woman who drives tractors, loves to hunt, and hates cats with a passion! Now, pleasantries aside, do tell me that you eliminated that foul beast from our planet. Thanks for the laughs! Rick

Ah, I know a guy who looks just like Melvin! Guess he would not be that difficult to get into a trap either... Regards, Martin

Hi Rick, welcome back. Just to clarify, I don't hate cats. I have two very nice barn cats (mother and her daughter) who stay home and mind the farm. What I hate are FERAL cats. Just as much as I hate feral and stray dogs. They rate with coyotes, skunks, raccoons, possums and the ilk. They kill my livestock so I remove them from my premises. My cats are neutered, stay home and will even go hunting with me and my lab on the property. They are fun, well trained and are good pets. Many pet owners are not as thoughtful though which unfortunately gets taken out on their pets. Concerning cats, all of the ferals I have dealt with have been wild males. Mimi, the daughter of the two, has saved my chickens from feral cats in the past. Can't ask for more than that! I have my trusty .22 home and it wears a new Weaver scope so I need to get it properly sighted in now.

Very well, Ann, I retract my earlier statement as being "not specific enough." I did read about your cat saving the chickens, and yes, that's a good cat! My appologies to your two cats if my statement offended them, and to you as well. Rick

Very little offends cats, as we know, so do not worry. Water is one of those things and it is a great training aid. Yes, you can train them. Again, like anything, too many can be a nuissance, annoying or detrimental to the environment. Domestic cats easily adapt to a wild lifestyle but then again so do cute things like burros and horses. I happily rid my property of feral cats.

Ann, is that really you talking, or do you have a new boarder that plays with your 'puter? Dan Pres., TYHC www.Harboring.Fugitives

Wow Dan, that sure looks like Mimi, just not fat enough to be her. Plus, she isn't a house kitty! But a computer would be her speed, she would probably enjoy a couple of games of solitare.
