GAHUNTERChristmas Bushbuck from My Wife
I've had a bushbuck skin and an impala cape sitting at Wildlife Taxidermy in Lawrenceville, Georgia for about two years waiting until my business picked up a bit before going ahead and getting them mounted. These are the last two trophies from my '04 Zimbabwe safari with Jumbo Moore in the ARDA section of the Save Conservancy. I've already gotten my leopard, Zebra and other trophies mounted, but I wanted a full body mount on the bushbuck, which they don't give away, and the impala just wasn't a high priority.
Well, my sweet wife decided to go ahead and have them mounted for me as a Christmas present. It wasn't really a surprise, as I suggested that this would be a good present. I really didn't know how good until I saw them in my trophy room on Christmas morning.
Below are the pictures of the new mounts. IGNORE THE DATE BURNED ONTO THE PHOTO! I took them today and didn't notice that the wrong date was entered in my camera, and I'm too lazy to retake them.
Here's my 24" impala
Here it is from a distance
Here's my Limpopo bushbuck (one of my better trophies)
With these additions, my trophy room is just about full. I absolutely refuse to overcrowd it, which, in my opinion, lessens the significance of the individual trophies. I'm saving one spot on the floor for a pedestal mount of a cape buffalo, and I have a couple of blank cranies that could accomodate a grysbuck, duiker or klipspringer.
Beyond that, I'm full.

BoghossianGAHUNTER, nice trophies.
I agree that an overstuffed trophy room can resemble a museum and the individual animals lose out.

Every morning the Zebra wakes up knowing it must outrun the fastest Lion if it wants to stay alive. Every morning the Lion wakes up knowing it must outrun the slowest Zebra or it will starve. It makes no difference if you are a Zebra or a Lion; when the Sun comes up in Africa, you must wake up running......
