Hi All,

Long time lurker here.

I have been working on my TR for the last year and am almost done with it. Ii's under my family room in the basement and is about 26x14. Unfortunately, there's some mechanicals and vent along one length of the room, but, I covered it with a sophet.

I used T1-11 ply over 1/2" ply on the studs. It has a plaster ceiling, 13 can lights, 16" of track light and plenty of plugs. I put in a full length glass door, crown molding, baseboard and will finish the plank shelf (along the foundation) this week. Oh...because the ceiling hight is only about 7'6" or 7", I just epoxied the floor to try to maintain some height.

I'm waiting for a couple of fallow to come from the taxidermist, am sorry I sold a moose, bear rug, couple of boars, a small axis and a spanish goat ( needed some $$ and some room before I moved into this place, but, will schedule replacement hunts fairly soon!).

Hope these pics work! (If not...here's the site to see'm and as well as the trophies if you wish.)

Thanks Thornell and Widow!

Widow - I shot one at Big Boar Lodge in Homer and the really big one last year at Old Stone Fence in Rensellear Falls. My chances of true wilderness hunts are kinda slim right now due to work and family, so, I try to make it a point to get out a few days a year and get some meat.

Thanks for the kind words!

Doug,

Some very nice trophies there!

I tried to edit the code so the pictures would appear here...its worked for some, but for some reason the second and last picture won't come up? The code appears correct, so it maybe a problem at the host site??

Regards,

Pete

Hello All,

Thank-you Pete...it may be the site, that's why I also post it in case anyone has any interest.

Hi Anders,

It's a hybrid and is actually 7/8ths ibex, the rest spanish goat I expect. I was at the Galloway ranch in Texas and he had about 12 in the herd. This one one the best one and he wanted very little money for it. My outfitter, Ken Wilson of Sportsman-on-Film fame, told me that if I didn't take him, he had another fellow hunting in few days who would...so...

I appreciate the comments!!!

Hi Doug,
trophies look great, too bad ya had to sell some to get the $$$$$. But you are right it just gives ya the the reason to go out again not that you really need one.

If a sportsman true you'd be
Listen careefully to me........., Never, never let your gun Pointed be at anyone, That it may unloaded be Matters not the least to me. When a hedge of fence you cross Though of time it cause a loss From your gun the cartridge take For the greater safety sake. If between you and a neighbour's gun Bird shall fly or beast may run Let this rule be thine "Follow not accross the line." Stops and beaters often unseen Lurk behind some Leafy screen. Calm and steady always be "Never shoot where you can't see."
You may kill or you may miss
But at all times think of this:
"All the game ever bred Won't repay one man dead."

Doug, That's a great job and your enthusiasm for the hunt shows through clearly. Your link to Wild Hill photo's and Bill Ricther sure brought back some memories! Hunted there back in the early 70's when Webb Keefe still ran it. Bill has done a great job though... Nice work.

Hi Everyone!

Sako...I go to Wild Hill when I'm really limited on time as he's about 3 hours from home. I never met Webb, but I expect the operation is as good as it can be considering the times. Bill's getting along in years, but, man...if I'm in the shape he is at his age...wow! Next year I'm goung back. I have to fullfill my promise to a couple of 15 year old nephews who are chomping at the bit for Uncle Douglas to take them boar hunting. As an additional treat for them and me, I'm going take buffalo. Boy, are just so psyched (me too, I have three daughters who are not at all interested in hunting)!!!

Bulldog..Many of these were taken in TX on various ranches. Looking into Indianhead or the YO in 2007 if I don't go to Alaska for bears (though I don't think I can justify $14K for a boat trip for coastal brown bear...though...we'll see. ;0) )

Best Regards!!!
