A Kudu shoulder mount is pretty big. Mine is 5'+ from the bottom obf thechest to the top of the horns. It's about 4' out from the wall. I had mine done with a sight turn of the head. The turn gives some clearence. He's in the stairwell, fitting nicely on area the size of full sheet of drywall. I think the space around your thophy is important to the display. A plack will get him an inch off the wall. I had a huge boar mount that I used a few small bocks of wood to get him away from the wall so the spine hair would look nice. If you don't over do it you could get away with maybe 2" off the wall using blocks, without the mount looking odd. Funny how we never think about these things BEFORE we shoot... If you can't smell his breath, your're not close enough!

A Kudu shoulder mount is pretty big. Funny how we never think about these things BEFORE we shoot... Boss Kongoni, Man, truer words were never spoken, a fit of blind passion, caught up in the moment of the great 2-screw 55" Kudu, $$$ later - I've got a Kudu too big for my small hunting/trophy room! Shoulda stuck with the Skull Mount! It's hanging at a friend's house and, yes, your measurements are spot-on. I know cause I keep re-measuing mine- Like it's gonna shrink or get smaller by osmosis hanging there by itself on the wall.... Cheers, Number 10
