Folks let me apologize in advance for my ignorance on this subject but figure someone here knows the answer. Does a Humidor protect it's contents from Humidity or provide a place for Humidity to thrive? I have a couple of old antique humidors that were my grandfathers and was thinking of using the one to keep a revolver or two in. I don't smoke and don't have any need for it's intended purpose; they are both essentially nightstands. PA Bear Hunter, NRA Benefactor

Humidors are a place where humidity is controlled, usually by moistening a humidrol. They are not meant to be airtight, so the moisture level will fluctuate along with that of the room. Guns should be kept in (relatively) dry conditions, so do not put any moisture into the humidors. George
