When I planned my hunt I wanted to get an unusal trophy for the room. The Giraffe surprisingly became the most difficult animal to hunt during the safari. I would most likely hunt them again. I think I would try a head or neck shot on the next one.



Giraffe meat is very good. It has a sweet taste to it. I have never had tried anything else that tastes like a Griaffe.

Mine on the left measured 54" & 54 1/2" when taken.

My fathers meased 56 1/2" and 54"(broken tip).

Both were 30" from tip to tip.



I have not measured them since they arrived. Do the horns get smaller as they dry out? (like a whitetails horns?)

Nice room indeed! Without meaning to put down some of the other rooms, I *love* what wood and natural stone does to trophies. Somehow they look more "out-of-place" on a white wall. Mental note for when (if?) I start doing my own room: "wood and stone".

as a matter of interest. If you can ever get hold of a Giraffe leg bone, They make a very impresive handle for a knife.

Actually, the giraffe IS a full body mount. To see the rest of it you have to go downstairs!
