Finished the WB last week, and brought home to terrorize the wife down in my Africa room. In her words "It's so ugly, it makes me like the Hartebeest!". The rug is a 48" round, made from backskin pieces. It is 30" wide, measures 57" on the curl and scores 88 SCI. We leave for our Namibia anniversary trip for leopard in 5 weeks, and may try to better each animal I got last trip.

I'm with Graybird. That rug is great! Please enlighten us as to how you pulled that off.

I got this particular one at my SCI chapter annual fudraiser recently. It is entirely from wildebeest skins, and some of the lighter pieces change shades with direction. It is modeled after one I had a friend in Namibia make for me from springbok hides. I'll get a photo tonight after work. Look at www.animalsonrugs.com, or some of the similar websites and they have some great ideas. I have some large throws I use in rooms for accents. My wife now wants to make a rug of Africa with pieces for individual countries.

48" Springbok round rug. It is trimmed in dark brown African wool; my friend's Dad raises sheep in the southern portion of Namibia.
