Here are a few photos I took of the trophy rooms my son in law built for me. The first shot is from the outside. The brown portion is new addition. The blue-grey part was built in the early 1950s. We gutted the interior of the old section. As you enter the door, you see the light oak bar he built for me. At the bottom of the stairs leading to the second level is my grizzly: From the top of the steps leading to the second level: Part of the upper level: Another shot of the upper level: One last one for now: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v440/patrkyhntr17252/6sm.jpg THE LUCKIEST HUNTER ALIVE!

Nice room! How did you construct the roof to leave the rafters exposed as they are? -TONY Tony Mandile - Author "How To Hunt Coues Deer"

Congratulations on a beautiful trophy room with trophies to match. I envy you the completed job as they are just beginning the addition to mine. Kudude

Tony, we tore all the interior walls out, and when we saw the exposed rafters and how rustic they looked, my son in law suggested we do the following: We insulated with styrofoam between the rafters and then put dry wall on that. He then did texture paint between the rafters on the dry wall. When we put the addition on, he did basically the same thing, only using new spruce 2X10 lumber and then staining it with a light red-brown. THE LUCKIEST HUNTER ALIVE!

There is a Cape buffalo on that wall, but what you see in that photo is a blue wildebeest. The buffalo is to the left and out of the photo. THE LUCKIEST HUNTER ALIVE!

The kudu and waterbuck look good too. Do you know their length? "In these days of mouth-foaming Disneyism......"--- Capstick Don't blame the hunters for what the poachers do!---me Benefactor Member NRA

I have not measured either of them. PHs tend to exaggerate a bit. Phillip told me the kudu was 56 inches and the waterbuck 31. It matters not to me. I like them, but have never measured either. There are actually only a few things I have had measured, usually because the outfitter asked me to do it. The funny thing is that I am an official measurer for SCI. Go figure. What I see represented here is a chance for someone to spread the joy of a hunt out over the rest of their lives, the chance to share each hunt with others. Every time one looks at one of the mounts they can go back in their mind to the feel, sounds smells, and scenry of the trip. Don't limit your challenges . . . Challenge your limits
