Got a couple mounts back from our 2015 trip to RSA.

my impala is now in my office (i know it's a mess, focus on the impala Wink )

he sits on a pedestal i built. i think its too big, but it'll work for now until i find something to replace it with.

my pop's sable and his euros are going to live in my basement for a few weeks until he can come get them.

the sable work is pretty good, but the taxidermist used the WRONG FORM!....

we gave them a photo of a mount we wanted them to replicate...when i walked in the door i was shocked. he was supposed to be turned 90 degrees looking over his right shoulder, head tilted down...not exactly what he got... with his head up as high as it is he almost looks cartoonish with the large chin, and with the contrast of white/dark hair around his chin it looks he's holding a softball in his mouth. woulda looked fine if his head was pointing down....

worked out a nice discount on him, but would much prefer to have him as desired...

he's still beautiful...i just wish he had come out as planned.

i know the basement is a mess too Wink... he is also sitting on a pedestal i built.

he's not seated all the way down, just because we're going to disassemble him soon.

impala in the office:

sable and a very unorganized basement...

I like those pedestals
Basement can be turned into a perfect trophy room
Just get some old barn wood and start hammering at it

When I'm ready to go, pack a bag of gunpowder up my ass and strike a fire to my pecker, until I squeal like a boar.

thank you, they were my first attempt at more finished carpentry. i think they turned out pretty good. the africa plaque on the sable pedestal was a pain to cut out with a jigsaw, i need a bandsaw!

behind the sable where the inversion table is will be my pool table/trophy room. there will be a half wall encompassing the columns to separate the movie room/pool table-trophy room. the work to finish the basement starts soon...just going to take me a while, it's a lot of work. i'm figuring around 2 years to slowly save/finish it.

we adjusted the angle of the sable relative to the pedestal, and lowered his chin a bit. turned out much better i think, and after a long road trip, he is at my folks house in TN.

please ignore the mess...

I like the sable and don't see any issue with how it's mounted, but of course, if you wanted something different, then that's what really matters.
