I have mine through my insurance (Firemans fund)) company. Each time I get another trophy in, I just call them and they add it to my policy. Pretty easy. Good Luck, W.

Woodsie, How do they determine the compensation value if, god forbid, your trophies were lost in a fire/flood/etc.? ____________________________ If you died tomorrow, what would you have done today ... 2018 Zimbabwe - Tuskless w/ Nengasha Safaris 2011 Mozambique - Buffalo w/ Mashambanzou Safaris

I told them the amount that I want each one insured for. Normally, Its hunting trip + Mount Cost= insured amount. They are listed specifically as taxidermy in my policy, not as art or collectable. W.

I have had some experence dealing with insurance issues( generally after the damage or loss )working on behalf of both sides; insurance companies and restoration companies or home owners. With most policies taxidermy is covered under personal property not different than furniture, appliances etc. But only up to the limits of the policy and generally for replacement value. Which is replacing with a similar specimen via open market. For most things FMV can be established and documented. It will vary depending on age, taxidermy quality and trophy quality. This is usually the cheapest way to cover at base level. As noted above there are a number of companies that will insure at full investment value. And or any declared value. Generally the onus is on the buyer to establish each and all expense and value. (If not before purchasing it may be demanded if a claim is ever filed so keep good records.) Also be sure to establish what the depreation stipulations might be and also if inflation is included in replacement. Best regards Mike Ohlmann Mike's Custom Taxidermy Inc. 4102 Cane Run Rd.
