Hi there I'm looking for ideas for the shape of the plaque, that best suits the Warthog. I've decided on Railwood, as I think it sets off the bleached skull nicely. Your thoughts please. I'm posted the same request in the taxidermy thread, but no info provided. | ||

When I spent a day at Fredrick Redeker's farm in Namibia I was very taken with a warthog Euro mount that he had on the wall. The skull was placed at an angle(+-45 Deg.?) that held the tusks parallel to the wall. The shield was a simple oval of dark wood. It was mounted just above eye level. The mount was perfect. I wish I had more time, I would dig up the picture, then scan and post it. Jason "You're not hard-core, unless you live hard-core." _______________________ Hunting in Africa is an adventure. I put the pig skulls on a walnut panel,or dark cherry, routered with a ogee bit, placed on the wall pedestal with a 27 degree angle. You can trace the outline of the skull and make a custom board. I place the skull square down on the lower jaw but they look good kicked back a little too.
