Your pic reminds me of one of my best outdoor memories. When my daugther was around 3, I took her fishing with me. I was in a canoe and fly fishing with poppers for bluegills and bass. It was a pleasant summer day, like many are in northern Minnesota, and after catching a bunch of fish, I loaded the boat on the Bronco and got her belted into the front seat. Then I handed her a Pepsi from the cooler, popped the top, and handed it to her. She grabbed it with both hands drank it. I can still remember her feet sticking out because she couldn't touch the floor. As we pulled on to the road leading us back home, I looked at her and asked her, "You know what the best thing is about being a Dad?" She turned her head toward me and said, "The dad loves the kid." She drew a picture of us fishing that day with crayons. I had a trophy room in MN and that picture hung in there with the rest of the "hero" 8x10s. I sold that house and everything is in storage, but I can't wait to hang that pic in my new trophy room, which like my old one, will contain a lot more than just a bunch of animal skins and heads.

I can relate, in fact, I have a story allmost exactily like it. The only difference is my 2 year old has lighter hair and hers was a bluegill (about the same size). As she was reeling it in it went into the moss. She kept repeating "get it out, get it out, get it out". After I reached out and grabbed it she was so excited, she dropped her little pink Barbie rod and started jumping up and down yelling "I caught one, I caught one!" I thought she was gonna explode. The best things in life really are free.....right now she's watching a movie, I thinks when its done we're going fishing.
