Finally got my mount back. Smiler

I took this old timer with a 25 06 in 2004. Took some tracking but I was well pleased when I walked up and saw all that mass.

I saw him the year before on the same sparsely pine covered hill side. His antlers were better then I think.

He's high and extra heavy. Any knowledgable hunter would appreciate that buck, regardless of score. It's not just the "trash-factor" bucks that get creamed by the scoring system, proper credit for mass is also lacking. Great buck! thumb

I know guys, thumbs down on the score only. Wink

I like this old warrior a lot. If I was concerned with score more than character I would of passed. I do like high scoring bucks but since I'm allowed 3 muley bucks and the season is 3 1/2 months long, I will be able to keep searching for those book bucks but won't pass on the charcter bucks like him.

I will take the first legal 4x4 during the Sept 1/10th 4 point season for meat without any hesitation. Just love to get out there and hunt anyways.
