Great looking great room, Brad!!! With 11 mounts of African game and a life-size bear getting done this year, I sure wish I had your space. I'll be doing some major rearranging.

I had originally added my 13'X16' trophy room to the back of the house as a "spa room." The 5'X7' spa sat down into the floor with two steps around it on two sides. At one end was a lighted alcove that had rock-faced walls and a planter.

These two images show it in transition after I removed the spa, filled in the hole and ripped out the planter at the end. Where the sheetrock on the wall ends was the height of the platform around the spa.

As soon as my wife "de-Christmases" the room, I'll take some pix and post. Right now, it has the Xmas tree blocking off a good portion of it, including the alcove, but here's a not-so-good teaser shot from a while back.

The current pix of the room are now in the OUTDOOR WRITER'S ROOM TODAY thread!!!-TONY

Tony, thanks for the compliment. The wall space is great, but you can never have enough. I have several pictures and horn mounts either hanging in the garage or stored under the bed because I fear overcrowding the room. Also, if I had it to do over again, I'd have mounted all three springbok on one pedestal mount and saved the wall space.

What type of bear and how are you having it mounted? Standing on back legs or down on all 4?

Brad,

Fear overcrowding? Look that word up in the dictionary and there would be a photo of my room as it is now before I even add anything.

The first image is MY bear. Green hide went 7'6" from nose to tail. The second is one my taxidermist killed and is somewhat like the mount I'm having done but with a slightly different base. I don't like the cheap looking wood around it, so I'll likely have the "natural habitat" spill over the edges gradually to right close to floor level. -TONY
