| Yes English Setter. One of two 'Roy & Dale'. Above with Kari's cousin Breanne. Of course I'm not going anywhere, I have to think about the kids. Well, Roy & Dale. They're just family dogs, although I had visions of training them for bird hunting. They do point spontaneously at coveys of quail on our walks but seem much more interested in cats. I'm embarrassed to say that my wife loves to dress them up, especially for holidays I'm not sure if I'll be able to keep the mount up. Unfortunately you have to walk through my study to get around the house. I may see if the Deli I take my game to would want to display it. I would love to be able to tell people I shot the boar they have on their wall. At least until I have the trophy room or hunting cabin! -Sean Roy & Dale |

| Sevens -thanks for the nice response. I think the hog turned out great too. I'm not sure I can take him down now, i really like where he is too, right across from the desk in my study. The taxidermist is Don Anderson. Kyler recommended him to me when I shot that boar on my first ever big game hunt. Since he's also a guide his work can take a while. That's really my only complaint as this one was from January 2002. Still, after getting it I think he's worth the wait. I do have a blacktail deer with him right now. I thought if I ever got more than a forkhorn blacktail I would get it mounted, so last August a shot a forkhorn with one eye guard. Good enough for me : ) Anderson Taxidermy & Guide Service PO Box 2947 Atascadero, Ca 93423-2947 805/466-3240 phone andersontaxidermy@thegrid.net |

| Sean the boar looks great on the wall! From having gone through that same set of "negotiations" with my wife I can say the first head is toughest. I think I've even gotten my wife talked into a warthog next. Great hunting with great hunters, Kyler |

| Sean,
Good to hear you have another mount on the way. My first big game animal should be coming home from the taxidermists any week now. Mine was Hawaiian Black sheep. You did very well if you took that Black tail in CA. I tried last year, but I didn't see a darn thing. I did see a nice buck while scouting, but that was the last time I saw him. A friend of mine however took the darn biggest deer from CA I've ever seen. It was 11 points and 17" tall and 26" wide, or something around that. I would have been happy with a forkhorn. He must have gotten all the luck when we were born. He is literaly only an hour or two older than I, same month, day, and year. Can't wait to see that black-tail. If it makes you feel any better. The house keeper at my home isn't that thrilled about mounts either, "your not putting an elk in this house, it's bad decore.", but I'll get it in there anyway. I just hope I get an elk this year.

| Sevens -your sheep sounds interesting. You hunted that in Hawaii? I only started hunting a few years ago so any success I've had to date can be attributed to Kyler who's put me in front of the two deer and three pigs that I've taken to date. I joined Wilderness Unlimited but have only been to two of the ranches so far. Spent three days in Mendocino last August and didn't see a single deer. Did see lots of bear sign. And spending three days hiking in mendocino near the coast was a nice break from work regardless. On my own my chances are pretty slim so far Also I'm using a rifle, I only just started practicing with that bow hanging on my door. Some day I hope to be good enough to give it a try. I have a page of my hunting exploits here: Sean's Hunting Page Did you take your sheep with a bow? Who's doing your taxidermy? -Sean |

| Sean,
You can hunt the Sheep in Hawaii, but I took mine back here in the states. I use John Hidalgo of Golden State Taxidermy. I've never used him before obviously, but he does good quality work, IMHO. Well see though in a few weeks. I do not use a bow and probably never will, but good for you though. It makes for more of a challenge. I use a 30-06 and that sheep didn't take more than 3 steps and it was on its back. It turned at the shot, fell, kicked and expired. I hope to get an elk and deer this year from Montana (hunting with my family from up there), then an undecided animal from Alaska next year, and some ibex from Mongolia the year after that. Hopefully I should Have some more mounts after that.

Amen! First it was "no dead animals in my home". Now my wife even accepts to have my collection of various stuffed birds in the living room.

| That is where my Hog is mounted!! We moved to a smaller home, and the only place the CinC House would let me put it was in the bedroom. |

| I went through that with my wife. My trophies were fine when they were in MY place, then after we were married that all changed. Only after I threatened to build a 20x20 office outside of the house did that change, she knew I would spend all my time out there. I now have a full body mount Iranian red sheeep on the way, A full body turkey, Shoulder mount Piebald whitetail, Corsican ram and a couple birds at the taxidermists. I also have an alaskan black bear hunt in AK in September(If successful on a biggie, full body mount)and a mountain lion hunt in January (lifesize). They are growing on her! Doug |

| It's truly amazing to me that you guys have to "deal" over something like this. Whatever happened to "this is my house and this is the way it is. See that door over there?" After all, who makes the payments? (I suppose that if one of you says "her", then I guess you're screwed). I feel sorry for you, I truly do. |

| You're cracking me up.
Not 15 minutes after my now ex-wife walked out the door, heads were be carried up from the basement to take center stage in the living room. My thought at the time was not "gee I wish she'd come back" but "why the he## didn't I put my foot down and have them up here a year ago.

| That has to be one of the most asinine, sexist remarks I've ever seen posted. No response necessary - JMO. |

| You are totally free to feel that way about my comment, and you don't offend me in saying so, but that is the way it is at my house. It's not changing. Indeed, it's not asinine when it's factual. I doubt you and I would get along very well. I have my beliefs, as do you, and we're both entitled to them. I do not retract anything I said there.
Cheers! |
