Well, Maybe I CUT it into pieces!!! The first pic is what it looked like when I received it from the supplier. Well, not only did the skin not fit the form, I just decided since I was going to have to "adjust the form....... I was going to ADJUST the form!! I wanted something a bit different than the usual zebra mount and I think I ended up with one of a kind. The next two pics is what it looked like when I finished cutting it into pieces. The middle pieces in each section were removed and the outside parts put back together. The head was actually removed three times and "adjusted". The next two is when I started putting it back together using two part foam. I make the cut outs on the mating surfaces and cut in relief holes so the foam could run out and not push apart the pieces. I mixed the foam, poured it on the bottom half and screwed down the top parts and let it rise!! As you can see, the parts do not match up well so there is a lot of re-sculpting to be done. (my favorite part of form alteration) The next one shows the form back together and most of the re-sculpting complete. Next you can see the wedge shape under his chin. That was on top of the neck just behind the head. That was the third time I cut the head off and removed the wedge shape, rolled the head up and slid it underneath to take up the space. The last two..... well are of the finish piece. I had much more time modifying the form than I did in mounting it. I had a blast!!

Wow... unique mount! I really like that piece. Wow - that's an incredibly cool project you undertook there. It came out looking great. One of these days, I would love to learn a skill like this.

Nice job! You are a talented wildlife sculptor - not to mention a taxidermist, too. I have to say that I would run away from a project like that as fast as I could! Mike Wilderness is my cathedral, and hunting is my prayer.

I like it, good idea for a zebra. Bet it would have looked neat with an open mouth, although I have seen that done before. Never saw one exactly like that one. Is that your personal mount or a customers?

Thanks for all the kind words!! RBHunt..... it is mine. I always "experiment" with my own mounts. I don't think I have one or two of mine that I have not made some modification to the form. Thanks again folks!

Very unique. I like it. ALLEN W. JOHNSON - DRSS Into my heart on air that kills From yon far country blows: What are those blue remembered hills, What spires, what farms are those?
