My Mackenzie Mountain Ram made it home today. What a great addition to the cave,

Yeah, it's a bit crowded, but I just don't know when to stop. The cool part is, my son's trophies are making their way onto the walls. That's the biggest thrill. Hope you enjoy.

Jack - That's a great looking room. That's a great muley on the left and the stand with the zebra, roan, and sable is terrific.

I'll second the comment about the trio-pedestal - it's fantastic! I'm curious about the sable on it though, he looks kind of ... err, young. Last day sable maybe?

Al,

That sable is rather unique - it's an old female. I shot it in Zim a few years back. They are not offered very often, and she looks great.

Thanks for the comments on the pedestal. That one was made in my shop. Zebra wood with a absolute black granite, chipped edge top.

Great looking room..

I absolutely LOVE those big sable bulls with that deep drop on the backend. He's a brute!

I see your "long road home" tusks found their place in the trophy room as well, and rightly so.. they're beautiful.

Great room and trophies Jack! Can you point me to where you got the frames to hold your ivory?

Thanks SBT. I made them, using 2.5" x 6" x 6" walnut blocks. Bandsaw out the contour, apply a touch of museum putty, and good to go.

Jack,
You have some real trophies there. I love that you have mountain game in with your African mounts and deer mounts. That to me shows a true hunter.
Question, on your wall (third pic down) is a mount next to your fallow bucks. The horn's spiral look kind of like a blackbuck's but the face obviously isn't. What animal is that?

Bluefin,

That animal is an Addax. Since I was a kid, I had this thing for spiral horn antelope.

Way before my first Africa safari, we wound up hunting whitetail in Texas. Looking at the lodge photo book, the spirally horned critter really caught my eye. Native to North Africa, they are near extinct in the wild. But they do have them in Texas, and here is proof.

Thanks!

That's a fabulous looking trophy room. I even like the color of the walls. Been looking for a new color for my 'man cave'.
