My wife has mentioned to me that if I am lucky enough to shoot an ele as I plan to in July, that she might want to make the ele feet into stools to sit on.

Have any of you guys done this? Do you have a picture? Or if not, do any of you have a link to some "ele feet stool" pictures from a taxidermist etc.?

Erik - I knew I saw these somewhere, just could not remember where. These are from Roosevelt & Drake's on-line store: R&D Website

There's a pair for $1250 that are real, and a fiberglass one for $450. They say the real ones are no longer importable into "this country" (US)...which is not correct as long as one has the correct paperwork, I'm pretty sure. Same with your part of the world too. Unless the "feet" are different then "the skin" (?), especially w/the tuskless you will be shooting.

The pict's are too large to link to.

Erik,

If you are going to the expense of shipping parts of your elephant home, how about an elephant trunk gun case?

I have also thought that elephant foot/leg hip waders would be nice, but it would take a lot of beeswax to waterproof them.

I recently asked my taxidermist about prices when it comes to ele feet stools etc.

To make a long story short: Forget it! I've decided to rather spend the money on trophy fees...

Perhaps I'll do it with another elephant from a future hunt, but not this time around.
