Hey all,

Thought you may be interested in viewing my Dad’s newly constructed trophy room with our Zim mounts including some other bird mounts we have from North America. My Dad and I were in Zim in 2008 and needed a place to house our mounts so he decided to add onto the existing house. The same home builder that built the house for him some 30 years ago did the addition. Tom Julian from Julian and Sons (http://www.julianandsons.com/) helped layout and draft the blueprints for the lighting. This is often an overlooked part of the building process in trophy rooms. You spend all the money on those wonderful mounts and they need to be well lit and lit the right way. Tom spoke at the Dallas show on building a trophy room and I believe he will be speaking in Reno as well. My dad and I heard him speak last year and it was the best thing we could have done. I highly recommend it. The bar in the room was done by Primo Craft (http://www.customwoodbars.com/default_home.htm). All of our Zim mounts were done by The Wildlife Gallery (http://www.thewildlifegallery.com/taxidermy/index.html ) and all I can say is, wow. The mounts are truly unique pieces of art. They did an amazing job and were great to work with. I also highly recommend them for any of your future trips. They were at Dallas and had a really cool booth presentation. Take care and Happy Hunting!

Very nice, I fear one day I will have to add on to my house to hold all my mounts and that will take away from my hunting funds.

Curious about the little table shaped like Africa with the buffalo horns, did y'all have that made or did you buy it somewhere? I really like it.

Good Hunting,

Very nice room and mounts. The Wildlife Gallery did our mounts from my son and I's trip to Zimbabwe. They did a fantastic job on our mounts. We were truly happy with the results.

Thanks for the comments. Its been a fun process to see it take shape. Still a lot of room on the walls for future mounts. My Dad did that on purpose. Haha.....

The Africa table was something The Wildlife Gallery started making and we were able to get one. They had one of these tables at their booth in Dallas.

Curious:

Is that glass on the Africa table or some sort of acrylic, i.e. Plexiglass?

Man, that must have been a chore to cut so it fit the curves of the inset area.

I am jealous...

This is a very tastefully done display area, and the mounts show some creativity, as well as top notch taxidermy work. I had a chance to meet Charlotte and Dan, two of the folks at Wildlife Gallery, they knew what they were talking about.

Jim,

The room looks great! I also love the way the cape buff's look on either side of the desk.

Regarding the table, I'm glad everyone likes it. Just so everyone is aware, we are making these now in our custom wood working shop and you were the first to get one. They have reproduction buff horns, with custom inlay walnut wood, and a real glass top... We are taking orders and they are 2500.00 each. I can do better on the price if it is purchased with a safari of animals to be mounted buy me Team....DAN
