Here is my first taxidermy commissioned mount. I have done European mounts in the past, with fair success.

No vaulted ceiling to hang him in, so he is going in the stairwell for now. Eventually, I will have a dedicated room in my home just for mounts.

The buck was harvested on September 3, 2007 at 6:44 a.m. MST, with a Remington Model 700 Mountain Rifle DBM in 25-06 caliber. The nearest geographical location is 2 miles WSW of Montez Reservoir at 11,900 feet above sea level in Colorado's GMU 861, Huerfano County, in the Huerfano Drainage of the Sangre De Cristo mountain range. The buck scores 177 3/8 Boone & Crocket points, falling short of the record book by 12 5/8 points.

Comments and questions are appreciated!

I wish you had more specific data about where the animal was taken!

Very nice mulie! nothing brings the hunt back to mind like a 3-d lifesize "photo"!

Rob,

Yes, I know...it's my nature to be overly accurate with details. But, knowing that, if a guy drew a tag there, he has a starting place!

Really nice deer, especially the brow tines. It is hard to tell from the pictures, but is he still in velvet?

Also, what is the terrain down that way? Weve been hunting unit 54 for several years and it is getting harder for my father to get up and down the mountains. Don't mind the altitude as long as it is more of a gentle climb.

Nice buck again!

Very nice---well worth the long wait for the photo! Interesting how much he resembles our plains mulies. Who did your mount?

Did you harvest it or shoot it?

Are you a politcally correct or a hunter? Big Grin

Nice buck!
