Just got back some of my African rugs from my Sept 2010 hunt in Namibia. The hides were tanned in Namibia and then once I had them here at home they were sent off to be rugged out. The giraffe section you see is the skin from the neck of the giraffe. the lighter tan skin is from a cow red hartebeest and the one pillow with tail is from my kudu bull backskin. Of course the rugs are just on the floor as a temp measure until its decided which wall in the house they will hang on. I had small rings attacted to both the rug pieces on each side so i can hang the rugs facing in either direction. The pillow with tail attached was thought of by the rugger who did these items, my input was to try and preserve or use as much of the center section and or mane hair that runs down the center of the kudus back and this is what the lady came up with. Its different and we (especially my wife, who has laid claim to this pillow already) like the way that turned out. Enjoy! Willi | ||
