I told me wife tonight that we need a new house. Not bigger, but smaller and with a dedicated trophy room.

I was thinking 30'x50' with 14-16' ceilings (not vaulted).

Is there a magic ratio that you should follow?

Mine is 30x40x12 and too small. I turn 38 this week. Where the next 25-30 years of trophies go, i do not know. Go bigger than you think you will ever need as you will run out of space sooner rather than later.

A good place to start is visit your local high school gym. You can work up from there.
Have fun

Austin,
Mine is 30 wide and 40 deep. Side walls are 12' tall to a 16' tall peak. I step down into im from my kitchen/dining room. The step down of about 24" makes it look bigger when looking into it. Safari Lawyer is correct. The room can fil up fast especially if you are doing some full mounts. Try to pick up the trophy room books they will give yoiu lots of ideas.

Im building a 30x24 with 18' walls and vaulted as we speak which is attached to my 30x20 existing game room with 8' walls. I think the 18' walls and vaulted ceiling will make up for a longer room if you have the option. My post is a few below your message with a couple pics in the earlier stages. good luck jeff~

I did it different I built a 6000 square foot house have 30 foot ceilings in a 2000 square foot area and my wife lets me use almost every room to display my trophies the kitchen and 2 bedrooms excluded. My bedroom is the Zebra room.
Oh well just a suggestion.

I have a 8,000 square foot house and have trophies in our great room, family room, library, son's room, wife's office, garage, and probably the guest bedroom next. I'm out of room after that!

Like I said visit the local high school gym.

Decided to enclose patio off of my library. I had my friend (a builder) over today to take measurements and work up a quote. It won't be huge, maybe 16x12; but it will have lots of wall space and will be a low cost addition - already have one wall and the ceiling!

I will post pics once I get started.
