You have a great collection.

If I ever get to Norway i would like to look at your room.

I'm addicted to hunting the small ones myself. Love the challenge. And they make for easy to place mounts as well Smiler
If you ever get to Norway you're welcome to visit!

I'm looking forward to seeing what you do for lighting. I'm still designing my next house and hope to start building by November. The trophy/game room in my project looks very similar to this... it's offset from the main house with the cathedral ceiling like you have. My sidewalls are expected to be 12 feet, and peak of the ceiling at 20 feet.

What are the length and width measurements of your room?

Looking good. Keep the updates coming!

Opus72,
Thanks!

Sorry for me being on the metric system, but I'll try to convert. Smiler
Length of the room is 9,3 meters and width is 8,2 meters. That will be around 30x27 feet.
Sidewalls 11 feet and ceilings at 17 feet.

I'm using a lot of time finishing this room. Talking to different people about lighting. Don't want to stress it to much. Hopefully I'll get a good result.

Excellent. My room is planned to be 25x30, so our rooms are very similar. I'm glad you posted this and I'm looking forward to seeing the animals make their way into their new home.

This prosject sure has taken a lot more time than I expected. Smiler
Only small things missing now. Putting up the lights and finishing the floor. I just need to wait for the electrican. And that is my brother who's quite busy at the moment. Will take some pics during the weekend and share them Smiler

Any news on your project?

Plans are back from the engineer, but we're not breaking ground until after my return from Zimbabwe. We're shooting for Oct 1st as a start date.

No update for a while. Been too busy hunting Smiler

Managed to finish mounting the lightning system. This is a flexible rail system, and allows me to change direction, numbers and "power" on the spots. It will also allow me to add more rails if neccesary.

I'm very happy with the results. Maybe I need to add some spots in the future. Now I can remove the scaffold and finish the floor Smiler

My room is finally finished! Smiler
Well, almost.. Been moving mounts and hanging them lately. It's quite difficult to decide were to put the different trophies. I'm in no rush. Better to use some time, than to move them a few days later. Smiler

Will put out some more pics, when the rest is in place. And when I can afford to buy some furniture Wink

Great pictures, great room Anders! In fact... I'm green with envy Smiler

I only check on this forum occasionally, but the Muntjak mount discussion over on the Euro Forum made me realize there might be pictures of further progress available. I think you can be both highly satisfied and not a little proud of what you have achieved!!

Now onto the expensive (but fun) part - filling it all up with trophies... tu2

Anders, if you don't mind me asking, how much did your room cost to build? I am looking into building a room like this for myself. Thanks!

I came in on this late but read it from start to finish. Got to admit it was hard not to jump to the back to see the finished product but wanted to see it at every stage. Just an absolute awesome trophy room Anders and something anyone would be proud of.

The great thing about such a room is that you could probably never consider it fully finished. It will be in constant change Smiler

Thanks again, guys. I really appreciate it!

Sending you a PM, Ozultra. But here's a link to the map I ordered:

Awesome room Anders! I finally got some of my trophies that I shot with Boet Nel in 05 and 07 to the taxidermist! So hopefully next year they will be back in Alaska hanging on the wall! Sure love those smaller animals you shot. Thinking next time I get back over to Africa, that is what I will hunt for. Thanks for sharing!

Anders,

A lot of thought went into your room. The lighting is so important, so well done.

I wish you many years of enjoyment reliving your hunts. And you are right, it's a never ending process.

Thanks for sharing it
