Wow! Nicely done! I had trophies scattered through the house in our previous abode, but I doubt if I could get to this level, without having some discussion at least. The cougar looks exceptionally nice, good taxidermy work. And I agree with the looks of the skulls, nice casual touch. In fact I like to see a few rugs, antlers, skulls "thrown around" in a room. It kinda takes the sharp edges off a strictly formal display. Now, my set-up is all "thrown around", nothing formal there, which is the other extreme.

Great house, one a visiting hunter can feel at home the moment the front door swings open!

Hey, I've been there! Believe me gentlemen, it looks just as good in person. Bill has quite an impressive collection and is a very nice guy to boot.

The mountain lion was my favorite also, pretty impressive- lurking a few feet over your head when you walk in.

Bill, it looks like you added a few since last summer.

Great trophies.

Thanks everyone, for the kind words. I continue to add quite a few mounts, and I am quickly running out of room. My wife is using that as an excuse for a new house! Not a bad strategy on her part, either. I'm very fortunate to have a wife who enjoys hunting as well as my trophy displays. She insists that when the cape buffalo and Eland are done that we will be in quite a fix. Not to mention the zebra, bushbuck, etc. that are waiting to be done. She keeps telling me to get a dall sheep for the wall. (And then thoughtfully adds, "before you're too damn old to climb those hills.) I'll try my best to see she gets her wish soon!

To answer a few questions. The mule deer was my very first archery kill, taken on Labor day weekend. It is indeed in full velvet. In the family room, that is a Bontebuck on the right of the mantle, and a blesbuck to the left. I really like the two different species (sub-species?) close together. The whitetail is the very first animal I ever shot, when I was 16 years old. Not a bad start.

The mountain lion is one of my favorites as well. I used Dean Schulte at High Unitas Taxidermy, Coalville, Utah for this animal, as well as most of my African mounts. (Some of the North American mounts were done before I found Dean.) I recommend him highly. Several of the mounts are quite customized from any kind of standard form, and I really like the extra "life" these mounts give the room.

Thanks,

Bill

Yeah, it's a shooter. Glad you like it. I know the coyotes up here are glad it's out of my hands.

Thanks for posting the pics of your trophies. Hope all is well.
