I saw a similar mount to this at a neightbors place a while back so when I shot a turkey this year I thought I would try my hand at it. I call it the roadkill mount. I skinned the bird, salted the hide, scraped off all the fat and such and then used some chemicals I picked up at Cabelas that is suppose to be used to tan hides (I used the same stuff on a coyote and Pronghorn hide and it has worked well for those). It is a bit odd looking, but I like it! http://render-2.snapfish.com/render2/is=Yup6aQQ%7C%3Dup...lQQ%7C/of=50,590,442

Nice and original! The feathers have certainly retained their sheen....it would be funny if you put a turkey head on the other side of the wall!

I really like that one... I would realy have to think about how I skinned it out before hand though... I'll give that a go on my next one.
