My first African mount (finally) home and on the wall.

Kind of temporary as I need to add crown molding and paint. Seems to be in a good spot though.

A side view

I'd also like to do something under the aquarium to display more of my skulls. And to hide the wires.

I like those pedestal/wall mounts and the Nyala is excellent.

What first occured to me was to put the aquarium on the chest where the TV is and get a wall mount flat screen for the TV - maybe across the corner.

Also, I suspect crown moulding will distract from the mounts. It might be worth looking at a piece of it before installing it all or painting it to match the wall color.

But there are many ways of doing things and half of them are as good as the next. Congrats on the nice trophies.

From yon far country blows:
What are those blue remembered hills,
What spires, what farms are those?
That is the land of lost content,
I see it shining plain,
The happy highways where I went
And cannot come again.

Yep, plan to change out the TV someday, still researching what the best make and type is. But, that will be after getting the rest of my mounuts done. Good idea, Allen, aquarium might be longer than the map chest though, I'll have to check that out.

Forget about putting the fishtank on that map cabinet...the weight would destroy it.

I love the idea of bringing back an entire hippo skull instead of just the tusks...looks great! I assume the damage to the skull is from the shot, rather than shipping? If so, that adds to the charm!

No, the broken part is from the shipping, I have the piece and will do some fixing this winter.

I am very glad I had the whole skull shipped, it is way cool. I want another one!

BTW- the rug is a red hartebeest.

Thanks guys! The photo is just a small portion of my living room and there is plenty of more wall space.

It is a piece of driftwood, looks neat, eh? And it is a steenbuck. I can take a closer photo of it if you like to see how it was mounted on the wood. Just let me know.

Nice! The cool thing is that you have a blank slate to work with - to make it the way you'll want it...
