I am considering a pedestal mount for a Waterbuck. Anybody ever done one? Any photos of any you have seen?

Clem, thanks for the tip on the trophy room books, I haven't looked at those. Would you have a photo or two of your own pedestal mounts you could post?

I saw a pedestal waterbuck mount a few years ago out in Reno at Animal Artistry's studio that I was very impressed with. The top of the pedestal surface was done with acrylic water surface, with plastic water plants growing out of the water, and the waterbuck had a slightly open mouth with some of the water plants hanging out like he was eating them. It really looked good.

Wink, check this place out. They don't have any waterbucks, but they do have some very nice pedestals.

I thought I remembered seeing a pedestal mount of a waterbuck around here somewhere from Saeed's trophy room.

Sorry for taking so long. Also sorry for the photo quality - new camera. All in all I am pleased with the results. The taxidermist used the backskins on the back of the manikins - nice touch. I am somewhat restricted on where I can place the kudu because of the height - so consider this with your waterbuck. Don't use a pedistal that gets it too tall.

Clem,

Very nice mounts.

Only you will understand this, but what wood are the pedestals made from?

Thanks. The wood is black walnut. No splits or cracks. Smiler

I was told that the tree had been harvested over 50 years ago.

Thanks for the inspiration. It's nice to see how someone else has done it. Very nice looking animals.

wink,

I am considering a pedestal mount for my Derby eland. It's not my idea, but my taxidermist's.

The Derby and other trophies of mine will be exposed at the Hunting fair of Rambouillet where You are living. The booth will be either Kotto Safari's or Serge Dassault's??
Thus, I think You can have a look at and that we can have good time together
