2005 Safari, finally recieved trophies Dec 2006. In between I got married and moved into a new house. Had an area picked out for hanging trophies, but it didn't fit the "wife-shui".

For almost a year I had to work around this in my home office/library

We decided the best place would be in my office/library. As you can see it has wood walls. We didn't want to leave any large holes in the wood which would be hard to patch, and which wouldn't look too good later.

Wife did put up a springbok in the living room.

She also hung the Zebra flatskin in step-daughter's room. (I shot the zebra just for her)

Finally last month the rest were put up. Had to get a little creative to hang them. Brother in law made some boomerang shaped pieces of metal that allowed us to put multipe wood screws into the studs; which are not centered where the mounts are hung, and also leaves very small holes which could be be filled in with wood putty.

Now that the African mounts are off the floor, that space is now filled by a Canada from last season

I think he's going to go up on the wall at my clinic office.

I also have a mallard drake in the freezer that's going to the taxidermist later this week. I have a spot picked out for him above a painting of mallards in the entry way.

I think I also need to factor in about 20-40 thousand to the next safari tab to add another room onto the house. Set for Zim/RSA in August for buff, nyala and bushbuck.

Nice trophies!

One suggestion though, you may not want to keep that springbok, or any mount for that matter, directly under the air vent.

Cable that was worth the wait. Nice job and well balanced approach to the display.

Nice work with a limited amount of space. That represents the majority of situations here I would say.

Your office looks great. I'd be interested to hear more and see a photo of the "boomerang" mounting system.

Thanks for the commpliments.

Actually the vent above the springbok is a return vent, so nothing is blowing down on it.

I took the hartebeest down to show the "boomerang" mounting system. The blurry picture below shows its position on the wall.

Here's a closeup

I hope you can see the three wood screws going into the stud. The bolt head is what is holding the mount up. The other 3 in the office are all hung up like this.
