The barrels we have at this time are only for the Large ring mausers. The thread OD is 1.1"

We are working on the small rings, but I am having a terible time finding small ring actions or rifles for sale at this time. The Turks will use the small ring barrel. Our usual suppliers are out of all the Turks and other small rings and we need at least 1 more 1893 or similar small ring and a Turk.

On the bullet wieght. What about a LBT designed WFN bullet by Verel Smith. I remember he used to design custom bullets very inexpensivly. He could stick with a .452 bullet and get 300+ grains I am pretty sure. .

Can't wait to see the small ring barrels hit the market.

Unfortunately Veral's molds are no longer inexpensive. But that is ok, because Lee makes a 300 gr .451" gas check bullet with a nice sized meplat, and the molds can be had for under $20. As I recall, when cast from wheelweigths, the bullet comes out 310 gr. I also have a buddys XFN 340 gr lbt.

I ordered a Large ring system today from Rhineland. Very nice company to deal with. I also put an order in for a small ring system, when they are available. Now I can sit and look out the window at the snow and wait for the UPS man to bring my goodies from Graff and Midway.

Take a look again on the website. It says the adaptor is made out of 4140 Steel. That should be strong enough for everyone except Clark.
I have a 357gn mold from MM in .454" I'm sure he could make larger ones.

How big of a bollit could we get in a LEE 6 cav?

It would probably be lots less hassle to have a run of custom Lee 6 cav .452-500 molds made than go with a .458 short rimless. Besides, I already have a pile of TZZ 45 brass.

I'd be a bit more concerned about shooting such heavy slugs at any real speed out of a barrel that is actually mounted in an aluminum thread adaptor while the whole shebang is being held in place with a locking collar .....

I think shooting heavy loads could possibly lead to the locking ring or the aluminum adaptor coming loose over time. This is an unsupported opinion, of course. No one will ever know unless somebody does it.

Lar, the Bator 358-260 in a Lee six-holer was 1.05" long, and it pushed the limit for the mold block. You might get away with another thou, but I wouldn't try. If anything, I'd suggest going a bit shorter just to avoid possible damage to the mold.

I just ordered my conversion kit. It should ship in 10days or so. I think it will be just the thing for my shotout 7x57 VZ-24.
