Mike Root (your host for the Spring 2004 Root's Roost Shoot) is you check collector and order man on this one, I am here to answer questions on the pellet designs and offer him advice on how to deal with LEE. You guys talk to Mike, he's the fellow what is in charge on this one.

You may have noticed that we seem to be growing some new (younger) leadership on the list -- this is a good thing as more people doing different things tends to keep things alive and moving right along. It also helps keep you from burning-out your old steadfast leadership quite so throughly.

You will also notice that none of the old leaders really seem to mind very much, any of us can sense we are not as swift moving on things as we used to be. We should therefore go out of our way to encourage new people to try to do some things for the list, especially if we can't seem "get around to doing it" ourselves. And we should continue to help them over the bumps as they come along with what they are trying to do.

That's what old leaders are for.

Jumptrap did this for me (and I appreciated it) and I will do it for Mike. It is also called "passing the torch".

It is part of the natural order of things.

I will hit this old thread to move it up where folks can find it to refer to the drawings, etc. along with the discussion on the features of the Viper pellets.

Remember, the discussion continues on the ordering thread. Orders will be cut off soon, so if you are interested at least post a quip to say so and get your e-mail to Mike as soon as you possibly can.

All you "just as the gangplank goes up" guys had better get a pronto e-mail to:

rootdr101@cs.com

so that you can get the address to send Mike a $21.50 check before he places the quantity with LEE and locks down the production run.

Mike, is there any leeway in placing the order past this upcoming Monday-Tuesday? If not, all these new lists had better communicate real quick to spread the news to their buddies if they are going to have time to get in on the deal.

Once more back up to the top, since Mike says he is still taking checks.

Here is a link to the discussion on barrel twist rates and a minor retune of the .177 Viper pellet to better accomodate 1 in 16" twist rates.

http://www.nookhill.com/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=19;t=001241

I will be changing the drawing that is the source graphic for all the blueprints and diagrams you have been looking at lately (as soon as we finalize the design changes that is).

Here is the drawing for the minor re-tune of the .177 Viper pellet so it accomodates 14-16 twist rate barrels.

Thanks to the Talon guys for pointing out the twist rate issues with the slower barrels. We could not accomodate the 18 twist Lothar / Walther barrels, but were able to accomodate the 14-16 twist rate barrels.

18 twist is just too too slow for the size and weight of this pellet.

Ed, apparently the wimmen really are on to us and have tried again to get the all powerful NetNanny to shield all innocent young eyes from seeing the "nasty deadly thing" for fear of instant corruption.

http://images.ofoto.com/photos493/7/55/93/2/92/0/92029355705_0_ALB.jpg

I wonder what they will do when their young 'un suddenly takes up melting WWs in a spoon over the kitchen stove all of a sudden?

"Making sinkers, Mom". Hmmmmm .....

I will repost it on another service for you, or if you prefer shoot me a return e-address to Oldfeller123@aol.com and I'll get you a direct dose of "deadly".

I trust you are already sufficently corrupted and it is safe to do so,
