I just got a 10" 25-20 barrel for my Contender that I am going to use for IHMSA Field Pistol events. I would like to try cast bullets of at least 90 grains. A gas check isn't necessary because I won't need more that 1200 fps, even less with a heavier bullet. The idea is to have enough bullet mass to knock the targets over while keeping recoil low enough to use a rifle scope. Does anyone have expirience with this combination?

Talk to the single shot boys. They shoot plain base in the 90 to 110 grain range extremely accurately. sundog
