With regards to .30-30 casings, my experience has been that once fired brass (Winchester & R-P) typically run around 2.03". I have never seen .30-30 brass any shorter than 2.02".

I am aware of the situation with current .38-55 brass being short but I have not seen anything like that with .30-30 casings.

Thanks for that input re: .30WCF brass. It simplifies the equation considerably. I wish all the manufacturers would produce correct length brass - would save us these added headaches!
