Fellas, I've had lackluster performance from WW metal in my .45ACP. What is the consences of opinion on the hardness of 45 target loads? I can make them harder without to much trouble but making them softer will require a little more effort. Regards,Jeff

Hey Jeff Unless you 45 barrel is really rough the problem is not the hardness of the bullet! It's my experience that most cast bullet problems are related to the diameter of the bullet. The minimum cast bullet size for 45 acp is .452 and .453 works. The second most frequent problem is trying to push the bullet too fast. May want to check your bullet lube also, but with reasonable velocities and correct bullet diameter you could use Chap Stick as bullet lube. Jim PS In the Fouling Shot, the Cast Bullet Association's news letter there were fellas shooting tight groups using Preparation H as bullet lube. Arkeypete, Preparation H used to be touted as a cure for baldness (it shrinks your head to fit your hair). Maybe in this case it shrinks the bore to fit the bullet. Sorry, I just couldn't stop myself. Mark Pursell
