| Thanks, Sundog. I have most of a can around and was wondering what to try in my .308 with the same bullet. That's as good a starting point as any. |

| sundog....I been using it in the .35 Rem...12.5 grains gives you 1576 with the 358430GCHP and about 2" at 100 yards.
I'm also using in my 38/44 loads, the 9mm and 44 Mangalem. Pretty well kept secret as to how well it shoots. The 30/30 ought to be a natural for Herco./beagle |

| yea, bulkier and slower. I was a little surprised at how clean it is with the load I mentioned, but then again that is a max load according to Lyman manual - pressure is up. Looks like I'll have to play around with it some more. It's super easy now to have a really large supply of boolits with that Lee 6-banger. Also gonna play around more with H116. 21.0 with that little boolit in 30-30 is fun, too. I tried to chrono that one day last week when I was off but it was way to cloudy to even get the chrono to work. sundog |

| I came across an 8# jug of Herco about 3 years ago for the right price ($15), and jumped all over it. It is THE powder for high velocity 1-1/4 oz to 1-1/2 oz shot loads in the 12 bore/2-3/4" shell. It does GREAT work in the 28 gauge.
It also does good work in cast +P 38 and 44 Special loads, as well as the Maggies in the 950-1100 FPS range with cast.
I haven't tried it in cast rifle loads yet, but it sounds like it would be sort of a slow Unique if run at the upper end of pressures from what y'all are saying. A right useful powder, take it all around. |

| I have used Herco in pistol loads from 9 mm to 45 colt with no problems and good accuracy though not great. I remember Felix saying it was position sensetive in rifle length cases. Did you tip up before each shot Sundog? How was the extreme spread. Gianni. |

| It works great in my TC .375 Win with cast bullets. Like ya said, treat it like slow Unique. |

| Hey guys, Will be interested in those Herco Loads for 30-30. Don't hear too much about Herco these days but it was a great one for those 1-1/2oz. duck loads. Dean Grinnell said that he loaded a "mighty tonnage" of the stuff. If I remember, that stuff had a narrow band in my '06 so I'd watch it! Newtire |

| I'll look for some Herco at the right price, sounds interastin'.
Blue Dot is the fuel of choice around here now for the mid range speeds. My 600 yd loading for the '03 is BD under 170 LBT spitzers which shows no vertical stringing at all at this range averaging 1975 fps. I've had ES's under 20 fps with this loading, not bad I'd say. |
