Went looking for some commercial 4759 yesterday, and our generally-well-stocked local stores do NOT have 4759. One shop has some 7625, which is one type I'm not familiar with.

Anything to report on this number, gents?

Also, could someone re-post the addy for LostCajun's Shooters' Archives?? Can't seem to locate it.

BruceB...I was once blessed with a 4 pounder of 7625 from a estate sale.

Great stuff in the 38 Special, 44 Special and 45 Colt. I imagine it would work well in the 45 ACP as well.

If the price is right...grab it./beagle

Bruce, that's an excellent single base powder, small granules, slightly faster than Unique. I did not find it as good as 4756 in the rifle sized cases, but it is an excellent pistol case size powder. Buy some just for the shear pleasure of using it. Burns clean, and is roughly equivlent to the VV powers. Excellent ignition, too. ... felix

Thanks, guys.

I just peeked at the burning-rate chart on the Hodgdon site, and was a bit surprised at where 7625 shows up. I may just have to try this one! It does appear a bit on the quick side for many rifle loads, but I've been known to drop the hammer on a peestol cartridge everynow-and-then...

I also happen to have some Norma 200 on hand, which I may as well burn up. Maybe there's a combination which will work in the .416 Rigby, which I'm just in the process of loading down for Vince in MO's edification, and my own, too of course.

Max, thanks for the link for the Archives, but right now it doesn't seem to be working ("cannot display the page" keeps coming up.)

........BruceB, I bought a full and a partial 8# cardboard kegs of the stuff from a guy who was needing money for his RC car fix. Being an accumilater how could I pass it up, even having no idea what it was good for (other than shotshells obviously).

Now I keep 50 rounds loaded up on hand as Burrito ammo for a M91 with Ly 314299's over 12.0grs of it. Ditto use in the 45 Colt. It appears to me to be about as usefull and applicable as Unique.
