My 13-1 lead tin bullets are fine, about .459-.460, and with a .459 sizer im getting good results.. All bands clean and sized.. With wheel weights its another story.. Do ww normally cast smaller than lead/ tin cast bullets? .... What method can i use to get my wheel weight bullets larger with the same rcbs gas check mold? Hot mould, cold pot or cold mold, hot pot etc?... The mould seems to be a little off on the matchup, making the bullets uneven diameter, with a small line at the seam that fills up with lube when sizing. . Of course i could be looking at my problem wrong, but i also just cant get wheel weights to come out sizer smooth on the bottom two bands on most of them.. It seems the gas check would take care of that, but im getting some muzzel leading and want cleaned up bullets thru the sizer. Am i missing something here, Or is it ok to have the bottom band undersize with the gas check?. will a bullet muzzel lead with a gas check if there are half mismatch lines up thru the bullets?. I cast 100 bullets last night and got 5 that cleaned up properly at .459 for my marlin cowboy 45 70 using wheel weights. Sorry i know from past experience my posts are hard to read.. dave

I use pure lead added to the mix to make them a little larger. As far as leading at the muzzle.what type of lube are you using?
Sometimes the melt and mold temp can affect the as cast size.
If you have any range scrape you might try adding some to a small mix to check the size and change accordingly.
Hope this helps with some ideas.

Add 2% tin to the WWs and perhaps cast a little hotter.

Newer WWs (the 20 years or so) are very low in tin. The addition of tin will make the alloy flow better and change the trinary alloy a little making for better, al little harder and more ductile alloy.

leading seems to be tied into undersized bullets, the 13-1 bigger sized bullets shot at less than 1500 fps dont seem to be leading badly, after patch lapping the bore with auto paint polish.. I would like to get the ww to work becouse 13-1 is epensive,.. so i can add some tin and try adding pure lead and maybe get the size/ hardness/ cost into shape. Im using lbt lube, one round can shoot fine one lead, and the next coat the bore with lube again, so im looking at the undersize bullets as the problem, maybe.....I seem to be slowly getting closer to fixing the problem tho.. thanks for all the help..

2 lb wheel weights, one pound lead, and one pound 20-1 cast to big enough size on trial run, and am looking at range of bhn cold cast, dropped in water, and baked to see if i need little more ww or lead to get the right hardness. A very good idea from you guys, thanks... dave
