I did get around to digging through the old Shooters Archive and I found the post that had gotten me thinking about this, with a response by some guy named BruceB that sounded just like the one here by Bren Mk1 In that one there was a guy that got a contaminated batch from an unknown cause. I guess I'll take my chances and go for it. The next thing is the smelter - I found a pretty intense discussion on the Shooters archive about how to go at that. Turkey fryer sounds like the way to go, but I've got a propane tank just waiting to be cut down, and a patio just waiting for 100 lbs of hot lead to be spilled on it Thanks, Stan
