Ruined a tire

Last Saturday I ruined a tire while driving down to Los Angeles to visit my parents. Sunday morning I looked in the yellow pages for a tire shop that was open on Sundays. I had a new tire put on, and asked for some used wheelweights.
At a chain store in California??
The guy showed me the bucket where they throw their old wheelweights (they must have just emptyed it the night before) and asked me if I lived locally. When I said no, he said "Too bad, I'd be happy to save them for you".
The moral of this story is ALWAYS ASK.
BTW if anybody here lives in the San Fernando Valley, put your e-mail address on here and I'll be very happy to tell you where the tire shop is.
