it's also a good idea to weigh them after sizing and lubing/checking.... gives you an idea of what weight you are actually pushing down the bore.... it's not usually a HUGE difference from cast only, but if you are loading close to max, it can make a difference.... of course, if you follow good loading practices, by starting well below max, and working your way up, you'll have no troubles.. | ||

When shooting in smallish cases like the hornet size, then a small weight difference can be critical to accuracy. This is because there is no real frindly powder speed for this bore size and case capacity. The powder speed required would be super critical at best. Keep in mind that condom BR boolits are seldom, if ever, sorted by weight, but instead sorted by "feel" when the jacket is being swaged on. With cast boolits we have no "feel" to judge by, so we much sort by weight hoping to minimize the air bubbles in the lead, and thereby wishing for an equal distribution of same. ... felix | |||
