SLW:

That sounds like the "Spar-T" press, with a six-position, round turret mounted on a basic C-frame press, which I first see in Lyman Annual Product Catalog #44 from 1962, at $29.50, plus primer feed at $5.95; and last appeared in the 1981 edition at $94.95, primer feed included, so your price is quite reasonable. (There was a four-position "All-American" turret press on a round central column that came in a couple of years earlier - I lack a couple of issues around then - and last appeared in the 1977 issue, but it wasn't grey and red.) I think it will take RCBS shell-holders; at least they look the same in the catalogs. Lemme know if no-one else speaks for it over the next couple of weeks.

SLW: Which model is it? Does it take the small 310-size loading dies (5/8" x 30 tpi), or the "standard" ones (7/8" x 14 tpi)? What color(s)? Lyman has made a variety of presses, and several turret models, over the years. The price is certainly a fair one, for an "as-new" Lyman press of any model. PM me, or post here (or send photo to <floodgate @ pacific.net> (omit spaces), and I will try to identify the model for "our gang".

I am currently canvassing the Lyman Handbooks and Annual Product Catalogs, as well as the various issues of "Handloaders Digest" to help answer questions like these; always interested in "spare' copies of the last-named; I have all the Lyman issued Handbooks, and most of the earlier - pre-1925 - ones , but lack several of the Annual Catalogs from the 1980's, some from the '60's and earlier, and - especially - need the 2000 issue, preferably in the large 8 1/2" x 11" format. floodgate
