I was wondering if the Lyman super moly lube is the same as moly coating. I use it sometimes and mix it with other lubes but it doesn't make quite the mess that I hear about moly coated bullets, in the barrel anyway. I bought some moly coated cast bullets from Bull-X years ago and they were OK but nothing special. And I agree that the bullet needs to match the bore size pretty well. Most well made cast bullets of the right size will not lead up a barrel much at all if they are lubed right and match the bore enought to obturate and seal the bore during firing, unless it's a newer barrel that hasn't been smoothed out yet. Of course, accuracy is what we want and some rifles or handguns don't like some types of cast bullets so we just have to try them to see. By the way, the moly coated cast bullets that I bought had no lube in the lube grooves and were just well coated with a dry or baked on moly. BM Bill | ||
