Your Eddystone's the same groove diameter as my Mosin, and that's a pretty common dimension for .303s, too. Both Mosins and Enfields (of the P-14 sort) were made here in WWI; suppose that barrel started out as a P-14 one, or at least was rifled with the same equipment?
