I suspect Fourarmed is correct about a full case of one of the 4831's. I did some experimentation with surplus WC-860 in the 30-06 and Lyman #311291, and full case of this slower powder (equivalent to H-870) weighed at 60.0 grains and gave just under 2200 FPS. Accuracy was good enough to surprise me. The rifle will do 1.5" at 100 yards with the Lymans pertty reliably--these ran about 2"-2.5". 4831's are significantly faster than the WC-860, so I'm thinking that full case loads of that fuel will produce faster velocities yet. | ||
