| Thanks, BCB. If slower powder works in your 94 with the soupcan, it'll probably work in mine. |

| Junior1942, I have used the soup can bullet in my 94s. I started using Unique and Red Dot for velocities of 1500-1600 fps. Accuracy WAS NOT MOBC at 100 yardsmaybe at 50 yards. I then tried 19.0 grains of SR-4759 for 2061 fps and 33.0 grains of WC-844 (H-335 burn rate) for 2149 fps. These two loads ARE MOBC accuracy at 100 yards. I really didnt get time to adjust these two loads to see if I could get more consistent 1.5 groups at 100 yards. Every once in awhile I would get a flyer that opened the groups to the 2 mark. It was never predictable. Regardless, the SR-4759 and WC-844 worked for me. Be careful as published data for these two powders is difficult to find for this bullet. The loads mentioned SEEMED O.K. in my 94suse your own judgment and discretion. Good-luckBCB |

| Yep, I saw the previous posts about the 6-holer. I'd've ordered one, too.
Help @ Hodgdon suggested 25 grs H4895 with the soupcan in 30-30 lever action for ~1900 fps. |

| Just got the 113 mould yesterday. Cast about 100, dropped in water from the mould. Ran them through the sizer-luber this morning. Tried Herco, Clays, and 4198 this afternoon. Best "group" at 50 yards was about 3". this with a scope on the 94 ranger. Bullets dropped from the mould at .312, and betweeen 111 and 112 grains with my alloy. Sized to .3095. with Hornady gas checks. Guess I'll try the slower stuff next, 'bout ready to give up on this rifle. Doesn't seem to like anything I've tried, especially condom bullets! |

| How about posting the Unique, Red Dot and Blue Dot loads with that C309-113 soupcan bullet! |

| Newtire, was that in a Model 94? If so it's got the same 1:12" twist mine does. I tried the Lee 93 gr plain base RN with 2400 with poor results in my 94 at ~ 1200 - 1500 fps. So I'm hoping the 113 F does well at 1900 - 2000 fps.
The Lee C309-170-F shoots like a dream in my 94, but I figure the 113-F will same me some precious alloy if it works. By "works" I mean Minute Of Beer Can (MOBC) at 75 yards. |

| Guys, the snailmail man brought my new Lee C309-113-F "soup can" mold, so yesterday I did some casting with it. It's one of those %&^*($#* molds that won't release the bullets. In 3 hours of casting, I got only 307 bullets. Then when I sorted them by Standard Deviation I got an excess number in the "Too Heavy" pile due to the fact that all that hammering on the mold bent a handle, and the blocks mis-aligned a lot. They weigh 111.4 grs in my hard alloy--2 lbs Babbit, 8 lbs wheelweight--and they mic a uniform .3115" from both cavities. I put 1 scratch in the inside cavity and 2 scratches in the outside cavity, and I was able to easily sort the batch by cavity. And, no, the scratches didn't cause the drop-out problem as the problem was in the un-scratched block. Maybe today or tomorrow I'll shoot em and see what happens. Think I'll go for 75 yd groups. |
