I have access to quite a few .45 pistol bullets and was wondering if anyone had tried paper patching them and using in a 45-70 for light plinking rounds. If so, what paper did you use to wrap them in and how exactly is it done? Thanks Dennis

Gey a copy of the latest Handloader magazine there is an article in it concerning paperpatched bullets. By the way I used the instuctions in the article to patch some 420gr bullets for my 45-70.

You can patch them with masking tape!

Dennis, Don't bother paper patching any bullet you plan on using for just plinking: It is WAY too time consuming to be pratical. Paper patching is a very fine way to prepare bullets for hunting or target shooting for various good reasons, which we could discuss, but PP for plinking? Nope. Stick with lubed bullets; they'll be much faster and eaisier to produce in quanity, and just as accuracte. Good morning, Forrest
