Wayne is a VERY nice fellow and makes VERY nice projectiles.

He was kind enough to send me some .470 540 gr slugs to check in my 470 NE before buying too many. Unfortunately, they don't work well because they are so long. Sill certainly send him what ever business I can because of his kindness.

Mike,
I am thinking about ordering a NEI die from him, for the 470. Mike has a 470 mbogo, and I'll eventually have a 470 NE....

thinking about 500 gr, 3 groove, gas checked, hard cast, LBT lubed, crimping groove, round or rounded flat nose

Just ordered a Ballisti-Cast 500 gr LFNGC mold. Their delivery time is about 3-4 weeks at the present time. Sean Harper kindly gave me some slugs he cast with an identical one. They work very well.

Fed 215, 470 NE Bell Cases
55.0 gr XMR 5744 == 1806 fps @ 87F
3625 lb-ft

Minimal fouling, some unburned powder in the bores. Nice load that should work pretty well on hogs and deer ;>Wink

The 540s were long enough to be hitting the rifling, but I did get some data.

Fed 215, 470 NE Bell Cases
50.0 gr XMR 5744 == 1639 fps @ 87F
3223 lb-ft

Again, bores were not fouled. Not as accurate as the 500s.

Will you be casting yourself or will you be turning it over to a commercial caster for the bullets?
