Does anyone offer cast bullets for the 10.75x68 Mauser? 404 Jeffery bullets would probably also work. Thanks!

Thanks ALF, haven't forgotten the ZG-47 pics, can't seem to get sharp ones, think it's my camera. If it gets close to publish deadline, remind me. I notice that BearTooth says they have a backlog of as long as 6 months. Have you ordered anything from them lately?

In the not-too-distant future, when I get a roundtuit, I'm gonna send a chamber/throat casting from my .404's barrel to xp100r down south. He has created some very nice designs (the "Bator" series) in other calibers, and has offered to do the same for my rifle. I'll likely get Mountain Molds to make the beast, and if it works out they should be able to supply a good 10.75mm bullet mould to anyone who needs it.

I'm hoping for a finished weight of around 370-400 grains, gaschecked with a shank to fit standard Hornady .44 gaschecks.

In the meantime, I'm successfully using the Lee 310-grain .44 design, sized to .424". This works even with water-quenched wheelweight bullets, and sizing effort in the 450 is not bad at all. The bullet has to be seated rather deep in the neck to clear or just touch the rifling origin, but accuracy isn't bad at all. One of the .404 factory loads was a 300-grain bullet, and the 10.75 Mauser also used a similar weight in some loads, I believe (meaning that the Lee design isn't really outside the 'weight envelope' for either cartridge).

Anyway, a decent .404 design should certainly work very nicely in your cartridge as well.

Regards from Bren Mk1
